A Holy Birth – Luke 2:7

A Holy Birth – Luke 2:7

A Holy Birth - A Heart Filled With A Bible Verse

“And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7 (NKJV)

Luke 2:7 – Best birth announcement ever!!!

Luke 2 was a chapter I was blessed to hear each and every Christmas growing up. It’s a chapter I’m so glad my kids now know and I pray it will be a chapter they continue filling their hearts with as each Christmas comes and goes. It’s such a special chapter in the Bible, and verse 7 speaks volumes about the night our Dear Savior was born.

“Wanna focus on a Christmas tradition that’ll make a huge impact? Open up your Bible to Luke 2 and get to reading. Make this the #1 tradition you pass down through the years. It’s one you won’t regret!”

– Becky

As a mom, the meaning behind this verse really touches a special place in my heart. I can only imagine what Mary and Joseph were thinking when they were first told by the angel she’d be giving birth to THE KING! And, then, the night she gave birth?!?

Think about it!

What were they thinking when it came to this miraculous birthing plan? Did they dream up what God’s entrance into the world would look like? Did they imagine a grand affair? Then when it came time, what thoughts were racing through both of their minds?

It’s just amazing to know God’s plans are not ours, friends. He makes a way! No matter the circumstances His plans prevail! On this holy of nights He came into the world, not born in a royal palace surrounded by all the luxuries but in a cave surrounded by livestock!! Lowly and humble He arrived, our Savior, in a manger wrapped in swaddling cloths. It’s a night I encourage you to sit and think about, because…

JESUS’ BIRTH IS WORTH OUR ATTENTION!

Fill your heart with gratitude for this Holy, miraculous night! Allow God to flood your heart with the true meaning behind the season and celebrate this holy birth with Mary and Joseph, the angels, the shepherds, the wise men – ALL of God’s children!

What makes it even more exciting…

We can actually celebrate even more, because we get the whole story!! All we have to do is open our Bibles and dig in. God’s Word shows us that He came, as a babe, to a world that desperately needed His redeeming plan. (John 12:44-50) His arrival was the unfolding of a plan set in motion before time began. Just dig into the Old Testament and you’ll find the prophecy of His birth. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6) We read about so many heroes of the Bible longing for this moment in time and believing in their hearts it would come to fruition.

“(2)But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting. (3)Therefore He shall give them up, until the time that she who is in labor has given birth; then the remnant of His brethren shall return to the children of Israel. (4)And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; and they shall abide, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth; (5)And this One shall be peace.”

Micah 5:2-5 (NKJV)

See, there’s so much to rejoice over!
