A Homeschool Momma Essential
I was blessed with mommas that helped me stay afloat along the way and I’m here to say I’d love to swim alongside you as you journey through the homeschool waters. I want you to know there will be countless times where you will rise out of the water, and all your hard work will pay off. But, because this is all about getting REAL with you, I want you to also know times of treading water and even times where you feel like you are on the brink of sinking are going to happen.
It’s part of the journey!
It’s not always going to be easy, but you didn’t sign up for easy did you??
You chose this path for reasons above and beyond easy! AND…that’s what I’m here to encourage you with today.
When obstacles crash down on you like angry waves, know there will be a calm that follows and you will find a way through every single one of the storms. The swim may be long and tiresome but, again, this journey was not meant to be “easy”.
Remember, if God called you to it He will see you through it!
The Essential? A Chocolate Stash!!
If we were to have ever ran across each other along the homeschool journey there are a few things you’d learn about me pretty quickly. Keeping a chocolate stash on hand would be one of them. I’m sharing this with you, because it totally helped me keep going along the way. It was essential for me to keep my chocolate stocked and also just as important to share this wonderful revelation with fellow homeschooling moms.
PURE BLISS!!!
Before I dive in, though, I want to point out that chocolate will do nothing for a homeschool momma if not first they start each day with Jesus. That’s why I also encourage you to read my Start Each Day With Jesus REALity Chat. Jesus is the key, ladies! He’s where we should begin each and every one of our homeschool days. He’s what we should keep our eyes fixed on throughout each of our days, and where we need to point our kids towards with every opportunity presented. So, make sure you get your Jesus time in often, daily, continuously!
After Jesus, and a whole-lotta coffee, my chocolate stash made so many more homeschool moments possible.
Oh, CHOCOLATE! You are a homeschool momma essential!!
I’m campaigning for every homeschool momma out there to have an emergency chocolate stash in place at all times!
It’s true, this is one of the things you would have learned about me right off the bat! I encourage homeschool mommas to have a chocolate stash ready and available 24/7.
Ladies, Chocolate Helps!!
There were countless times along the homeschool journey I had to make a run for my chocolate stash…I’m not ashamed of it, I knew I needed it to keep me going. Maybe it was just the time out in my closet to refocus and indulge in the sweet bliss of it all…but, it helped me! So, I highly recommend it. I also recommend keeping a stash in your purse and/or to-go bag, because not only might you need it yourself, when you’re on the go, but you might run across another homeschool momma that needs a sweet little treat. We are all in this together! So stock up and share the love!
Now, I understand not all mommas like, or can even eat chocolate, so I recommend stocking up on a sweet treat that can be enjoyed! Because…we all need a little sweetness in our lives. It’s a homeschool momma essential!!
Homeschool mommas, once you get stocked you can then dig in! So, when you feel like you are just afloat or almost sinking the chocolate will be waiting!! AND…GASP…you might even find yourself sharing the stash with your kids as you celebrate all the rising-out-of-the-water moments.
I know that chocolate won’t take the obstacle away but it will help to sweeten the load, so indulge. As you indulge make sure to send the prayers up, mommas. God’s there always! He hears you and loves you so much. It’s gonna be ok, and it will get better. HUGS!!
It’s my prayer that you know just how amazing you really are. The journey you chose is not an easy commitment, but you are right where you are supposed to be. Stay faithful! Through God’s guidance you will rise out of the water and *spoiler alert* you might even find yourself gliding gracefully atop the angry waves – with some chocolate (or other sweet treat of your preference) in your hand, of course!
It’s through God’s love and care for your family’s homeschool journey that you will keep swimming!!
