These song lyrics were written back in 1984 by Mark Lowry. It was not until 1991 that it got it’s music written by Buddy Greene, and then recorded by Michael English. And, since has been sung by so many artists through the years. It’s a song that touches hearts and leaves us pondering what Mary must have been thinking and kept so close to her heart.

Can you even imagine kissing the face of God, as a baby wrapped snugly in swaddling cloths lying in a manger?! Oh, what a holy night that must have been for Mary! Seriously, take a moment just to be still and ponder all that transpired from the angel’s visit to the birth of baby Jesus and all the way through His ministry, death, and resurrection. Mary was there for it all! She witnessed The Savior of the World come into this world, as a baby. She watched Him grow, nurtured Him along the way, and witnessed Him dying on the cross for us all.

Let’s fill our hearts with this song believing…

Mary was chosen to give birth to our Lord and Savior! She walked by faith, and believed. We can’t travel back in time, although HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?!? But, we can read about Jesus’ birth in the Bible, the only book of truth! And, we can lift our voices and sing this song with all our heart! Because, we know how the story unfolds, and we know God is sovereign. Our Savior’s birth was a miracle, full of wonder! Jesus came for a purpose and out of love gave His life for us – so that we may be saved!

REJOICE, friends! Jesus saves! (John 3:16) He is the Lord of all creation and one day soon all His children will be united. He’s preparing our Heavenly home as we speak, so go out into the world and spread the good news.
