Dive Into the Bible With Your Kids!
A Heart Filled Homeschool Journey

“Homeschooling gives parents the opportunity to dive into the important things together! Opening up our Bibles alongside our children, day-by-day, makes a heart filled difference.”

EXPLORING VIRTUES TOGETHER MAKES LEARNING FUN
Opening up the Bible alongside your children leads to so many wonderful explorations. God’s Word is a living and powerful source we, as homeschool mommas, get to tap into every single day!! AND…what’s even sweeter – WE GET TO DIVE INTO IT WITH OUR KIDS AND SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS NEEDED ON EACH AND EVERY TREASURE WE DISCOVER.
And, friends, there are so many treasures to discover!
One of the treasures that’s made a permanent mark on my momma heart would have to be exploring virtues alongside them!
I have so many fond memories of exploring all the amazing virtues God tells us about in the Bible with my kids as we ventured through our homeschool journey!

Exploring virtues together with your kiddos has so many wonderful benefits. The biggest being that it really does make a heart filled difference not only for your kids, but for you as well!!
Let’s take a peek at three reasons why exploring virtues together makes learning fun!
1. EXPLORING VIRTUES HELPS US ALL GROW
Learning how God wants His children to live is a gift we get to pass along to our kids! And, when we take the time to explore the traits that make up these virtues growth follows.
Growth for the mommas! AND growth for the kiddos!!
Like anything that grows, excitement is sure to follow! Think about it…When you first spot the teeny tiny sprout that’s peeking through the soil you’ve spent countless hours tending to how do you feel? It’s the same with Spiritual growth when it begins to burst forth. IT’S EXCITING!!

One of the things I tried to keep in mind as we explored each virtue was pointing out all the ways my kids portrayed the virtue along the learning journey. When my kids were younger we even worked through different play-based activities based upon the character traits we were exploring! There’s so many fun ways to teach these lessons!!

2. EXPLORING VIRTUES LEADS DOWN THE ROAD TO DISCOVERY

With any Bible dig there’s bound to be countless rabbit holes one can find themselves in. When taking the time to explore virtues with your kids you’ll find yourself hopping in one and out another!! It’s all in how you approach the hunt! There really are so many ways these beautiful lessons could be taught! And, there are so many beautiful nuggets of truth waiting to be discovered along the way!!
see…MORE FUN!!!
As I explored these virtues with my kids there were many “off road” detours we took and they were just what was needed in the moment for each of our hearts! God knows what are days need and allowing Him to take the reigns makes a world of difference.

3. EXPLORING VIRTUES ALLOWS FOR CREATIVITY
When exploring virtues with your kids a great way to reiterate what’s been learned is to jot it down in one’s own unique way. Now, this could look a little different for all involved and may include: journaling, drawing, or painting…just to name a few!

One of the ways we “jotted” our virtue explorations down, when my kids were younger, was through a prompt sheet I found online way back when. The sheet included space to write out character traits we learned along the way, as well as space for drawing. It was such a fun way to add a little creativity to the lessons learned. Giving kids a chance to get creative really does make a difference!

EXPLORING VIRTUES IS A JOURNEY WORTH TAKING
I want to encourage all the homeschool mommas that stop by A Heart Filled to take the time and dig into the Bible with your kids because it’s a journey worth taking!
There’s just something about these particular Bible lessons that filled a huge space in my heart, and I pray as my kids continue to grow older they will remember all the valuable lessons they learned along the way.
