EXPLORING VIRTUES – HUMBLE
In a world where it’s all about “self”, how about we go against the norm and teach our kids what being humble is all about?! I’m talking about a virtue that takes effort on our part, but then it also allows us the opportunity to constantly lean into Jesus giving Him the reigns to guide us down the path least taken. A path filled with service, gratitude, blessings, and wisdom!
Humble is a virtue worth exploring!!!
It’s time to go on a Bible hunt with the kids in your life! This virtue exploration is broken down into 4 sections, and focuses on exploring Bible verses that fit/explain the virtue in the spotlight. Each section is a “starting point” to help ignite the flame. The possibilities are endless, really!!
Use the information below however you see fit. You may even feel inspired to add in a lesson or two about Bible heroes that fit the virtue being explored! Go with it!! Allow God to direct the search and be open to all there is to glean from each exploration.
Remember, digging into the Bible with kids is an adventure! Take your time and enjoy the journey!

Search It Out!
Open up your Bible and dive into God’s Word with your kids today to find out what being humble is all about.
“Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”
Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT)
Each Bible verse discovered along the way is sure to help, and the concordance is a great place to start this hunt! Here’s an online option to help get you started – https://biblehub.com/search.php?q=humble

As you dig in you’ll learn…
- Being humble takes the spotlight off of “self”. (It’s the opposite of pride.)
- Serving God and doing His will is top priority for a humble heart.
- Being humble allows God to show us how we can put others first.
- We can show God’s love when we choose to live a humble life!
