God’s Presence of Rest

The conversation between Moses and the Lord, found in Exodus 33:12-23, is a wonderful reminder for all Believers!! During this conversation, Moses needed some assurance and God did not disappoint. He never disappoints!!

God’s presence never leaves us.

His presence is guaranteed.

He is always near by.

In order to claim this truth as our own we have to be like Moses! We have to spend time with the Lord. It’s all about where we are in our relationship with Him; it’s about our perspective and where we put our faith and trust.

Moses relied on God’s direction. He put his faith and trust in the words spoken to him from the Lord. He knew God was near, directing the path of the Israelites.

How about you?

Thoughts about God's Presence of Rest

Can you honestly say you have put all your faith and trust in the Lord? Are you allowing God to direct your path?? Because if you can then you can experience the kind of rest mentioned in verse 14.

God allows His children rest because of His presence! This is comforting, uplifting, extraordinary truth given to us straight from the lips of God Almighty.

AMAZING, ENCOURAGING, TERRIFIC TRUTH!!

God’s presence of rest is always near!

God is omnipresent! Meaning He is present at all times and in all places. His presence is all majestic, full of glory, and oh-so-powerful! (Exodus 33:20) His ability to be everywhere, all the time – near to the hearts of His children 24/7 – is simply the best. This is where I find my rest, friends! And, I pray this is also where you will be able to find your rest.

Have you had a conversation with God lately?

I want to point out one more thing before I go. Communication with the Lord, found in the Old Testament, only took place between those chosen by God to speak to Him directly. They would enter into God’s presence, talk with Him, intercede on the behalf of the people, and then relay messages back to the people – like Moses.

“Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.”

Exodus 33:11 (NLT)

As soon as Jesus gave up His spirit, on the cross, the veil was torn. (Matthew 27:50&51) Meaning no more Moses, no more priests, no more appointed that needed to intercede for us! Jesus’ sacrifice gave us full access!! We gained an open communication line to our Heavenly Father. We can talk with our Lord and Savior whenever we want. Friends, Jesus is alive!! And, now He sits at the right hand side of God interceding for us as we come to Him in prayer!! (Romans 8:34)

So, friends, I want to ask you one more thing. When’s the last time you’ve came to the Lord and had a conversation with Him, as you often do with those closest to you? Remember, prayer can take place anytime, any place, and as often as you need. Jesus is waiting to hear from you today! So…

Pray - Rest in God's Presence

Talk with the Lord as often as you need to! Don’t make it complicated. Be like Moses, and just chat with Him. It’s nothing more than a conversation with the One who knows you best. The One who created you and wants the best for you. The One who offers rest in His presence!
