The Bible, the only book of truth, is our roadmap for life. It’s filled with God-breathed words our heart needs, and as we open our hearts the Holy Spirit begins to fill us up. It can be hard at times to understand what exactly we’re reading and that’s where a good study Bible comes in handy! I wanted to share with you one of my favorites.
The Life Application Study Bible has been my go-to for numerous years now. It was gifted to me by my parents and has seen me through many seasons of life. It’s probably the first Bible I’ve actually read cover to cover! It’s filled with every highlighted color I can get my hands on and I’m running out of room for all the little tidbits I love writing on the pages. I seriously have learned SO MUCH with this Bible.

What I love most about my favorite study Bible . . .
The thing I love the most about this particular study Bible, besides the fact that my parents got it for me, is that it really helps me understand more clearly what the verses mean. An important element for a “study” Bible!
Have you ever read through a chapter in the Bible and got to the end only to be confused by what you just read, and then you find yourself rereading it over and over again just for some clarification? I have! More than once! This is where the Holy Spirit intervenes for me and the Life Application Study Bible becomes a tool that helps me dive in more deeply to the meaning of each of those verses that I get hung up on. The notes included explain it in a way that helps bring the verses to light for me and I find myself sharing more of God’s treasures I uncover because of this Bible.
If you are looking for a Bible that helps you understand what’s up with all those complicated verses, this is it!

I also enjoy the intros included for each book of the Bible, as well as all the people profiles!
The intros do a great job setting the stage for what’s to come in the book of the Bible I’m about to read. They also include history tidbits, which are a great plus for this history enthusiast! I always take a peek at the “vital statistic” section before diving in because it reminds me who wrote the book of the Bible and includes a snippet of the “purpose” behind the book.
The people profiles found scattered throughout this study Bible are another perk I enjoy. To really study the Bible it’s great to learn more about the people that fill its pages! Each profile allows readers to gain insight about the person’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as life lessons from that individual’s story.
If you’re looking for a Bible that helps bring the pages to life for you, this is it!

I could go on and on about this particular study Bible! Every time I read through it I learn more and more, which in turn helps me grow closer and closer to my Lord and Savior. I have no doubt it will do the same for you too!
It’s a great choice for those looking to get their first study Bible and also makes a great compliment to a collection already owned. It comes in KJV, NKJV, NIV, and NLT. There’s even a variety of styles to choose from: a kindle version, hardcover, paperback, leather, printed designs, and colors! I’ve been eyeing the large-print editions lately. (October 2023 Update – I got a large-print edition!! It’s GREAT! I absolutely LOVE IT! I’ve been able to compare the Bible notes with my older version and am enjoying the updates that have been added. You can take some sneak-peeks by checking out the pictures I added inside this post.
