Prayer Walk Intro (Week 4)

Prayer is a habit we build upon. Remember, God is there ready and willing to listen whenever/wherever! The communication line is always opened!!

Throughout the Bible we learn to cast all our cares upon Him. AND…as we do this we learn just how reliable our God really is! The worries of the day really do poof away when we keep our eyes focused on Him.

As we fill our days with prayer we learn to lean into His strength and power, because we experience just how mighty He really is and once we experience this it changes things! As we build up a healthy prayer walk we realize just how much we need God’s strength and power to make it through each and every one of our anxious thoughts, bad days, hard moments… You get what I’m saying??

And, friends, the more we tap into His divine nature and overflowing care we understand just what Paul is speaking about in Philippians 4:6! Who better to explain this than Paul?! A man destined to walk in God’s will, who felt the excruciating pain of persecution and knew exactly what hardship was all about. Yet he persevered, and along the way encouraged those he crossed paths with and to this day continues to encourage those willing to open up their Bibles and fill up on his testimony.

Prayer Walk: Philippians 4:6 (Week 4)

When we first meet Paul his heart was far from God, but God had other plans for him. In fact, God’s plan for him was inevitable. God’s plans for Paul’s life superseded his own wayward plans, and through Paul’s ministry we learn so much. We gain so much! Like the insight needed to work at keeping prayer a priority in our lives!

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Philippians 4:6 (ESV)

Spend some time in the New Testament and you’ll quickly learn Paul’s life was not all sunshine and roses. (2 Corinthians 11:16-33) Friends, Paul knew what suffering was all about! He experienced ridicule and felt those anxious thoughts we all get. But he had the antidote for it all – a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior!! Paul teaches us just how vital this relationship is, and how to go about making it stronger day by day. So, we should take him up on his advice and…

Better yet, the verse found in Philippians 4:6 reminds us to…

AND…that’s exactly what we should be doing!

It’s when we begin to pray about everything that we find our “trust in the Lord” meter rising higher and higher. I’m talking about some peace-making, faith-on-fire kind of trust in God alone. What’s even more amazing is as this trust builds we begin to rely solely on our Heavenly Father’s amazing, all-encompassing, never-ending love and care…all while believing His divine and wonderful plans for our lives extends further than we can ever imagine. This is what a “pray about everything” kind of prayer walk can do to us!!! (1 Peter 5:6, 7) The suffering, pain, and anxiousness we feel are only temporary. (2 Corinthians 4:7-18) God’s got us covered! There is no need to worry, actually…there is no time to worry as long as we are praying!!
