Prayer Walk Intro (Week 8)

Last week I mentioned that in Romans 8:26 we’re told that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we don’t know what to pray. God’s promise that He hears us goes farther than just the words we speak aloud in our prayers. Because He is with us – abiding inside us – He knows our thoughts, our hearts, AND He knows what we need to pray even when we can’t find the words. What a wonderful truth nugget to solidify the fact that He is listening!! Give thanks…

Prayer Walk: Romans 8:26 (Week 8)

Friends, Romans 8:26 teaches us that the Holy Spirit stirs our hearts for prayer!

The Holy Spirit helps us understand that prayer is essential…it’s needed!! AND…when we don’t have the words to say He steps in to help us out. The Holy Spirit speaks for us because He knows – He knows our hearts!! Now, this is comforting news.

Prayer Walk - Romans 8:26

As Believers, God abides within us, friends. The Holy Spirit is the third-personage of God that stays with us, indwells within us. When we accept the free gift of salvation we invite Him on in, and we gain a Helper!! Oh friends, He is the ultimate Helper. A Helper that trumps all others.

As we grow closer and closer to our Heavenly Father and Savior He helps us, grows us, shapes us and even intercedes for us!! His guidance and instruction benefit us in the very best of ways. He performs a heart makeover and it continues every single day we are His. He tugs on our heartstrings in ways only the King of the world can do. God created us in His image and because of this our connection to Him only gets stronger the longer we stay plugged into His help.

And, as I mentioned last week this verse tops off His promise to listen and hear us when we cry out to Him with the sweetest of comfort. He hears it all, because He knows it all. God lives within us and connects with us in a way only our Creator can.

Everything our hearts, bodies, and minds go through God Almighty knows, because they have already went through His loving, caring, gentle hands. So, when we are at our lowest, or have simply run out of words to express all we feel, He knows. He knows because He hears us…He hears the deep down thoughts our hearts beat upon and intercedes when we just can’t.

Pray Built on Hope & Trust

So, it’s when we cling to the truth that Romans 8:26 states that we can without a doubt live a life full of hope and trust as we lift our voices to the Lord.

It’s prayer built on HOPE & TRUST!! That’s what this Bible verse gives us!! An assurance in how we live our lives according to Scripture.

We get to keep building our relationship with the Lord knowing He hears us, even when we don’t have the words. So, then we can, with hope and trust, draw near to God in prayer whenever, wherever. Because, we know no matter what God cares, He’s listening, and the Holy Spirit WILL interceded every single time.

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us, friends!!!

He is our help in weakness.

God is near to His children.

I pray you are able to wholeheartedly believe that God hears you and know deep down that He will never change. So, as you pray cling to this verse knowing He understands it all!!
