A Heart Filled With A Verse For Christmas

Oh how I love this Bible verse! It speaks volumes about Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer – THE PRINCE OF PEACE! Jesus, God in human form, came to the world as a baby boy, born of a virgin (Read Luke 1:26-37 & 2:1-20 for the full story of Jesus’ birth!), and that is why we celebrate the Christmas season. Christmas is a time to rejoice over God’s gift to the world, baby Jesus’ birth!.

JESUS’ BIRTH IS WORTH A CELEBRATION!

Jesus’ birth was foretold in the Old Testament way before the magnificent and glorious night our Prince of Peace was born. In the book of Isaiah we follow one of God’s prophet’s ministries. A prophet’s job was to speak to God and relay His messages to the people. Isaiah got the wonderful news we read about, in Isaiah 9:6, straight from God himself! It was God’s promise that one day Christ – I’m talking about Jesus – would come to the world, in human form, and deliver His people from their slavery to sin. AND, the miraculous part – He would come as a child, born of a virgin!

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”

Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV)

JESUS’ BIRTH WAS A MIGHTY MIRACLE!

After we learn about Jesus’ birth, Isaiah then goes on to tell us MORE about who Jesus would be to us all!

“And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isaiah 9:6b (NKJV)

WOW! What an amazing message Isaiah was blessed to pass on to God’s people! I don’t even know how to describe the feeling I get when I read this Bible verse, friends. It’s THAT GOOD!!! Every single title Jesus is given in this verse is SPOT ON, PURE, AWESOMENESS! And, if you back up to the verse I quoted from chapter 7, we get one more SPECIAL title – Emmanuel which means “God is with us”!!

Our Emmanuel came to the word, as a baby wrapped in swaddling cloth lying in a manger for ALL OF US! He then grew into a man and showed us what a Mighty God He was as He walked the earth side-by-side people just like you and me. Jesus, our Wonderful Counselor, brought Heavenly Peace to our world – preaching, teaching, healing, and performing miracles everywhere He went! AND, then He died on the cross for ALL of our sins, rose 3 days later – a miraculous resurrection – and He’s up in Heaven preparing a place for all of His children. Jesus is our Everlasting Father. HALLELUJAH!
