So many wonderful Bible verses can be found in the book of Psalms! Verses to meditate on, inspire and uplift a soul, and totally get a heart pumping full of majestic joy. AND…I wanted to share the ones that speak truth into my heart, fill me up with gladness, and keep me singing praise to the King of kings.

Although, I do highly recommend each heart take the time needed to journey through this book of the Bible on their own I pray the verses I share will be an encouragement to those that read through them! I also pray these verses I share will ignite a flame of desire in the hearts of many to open up their Bibles and fill up on the powerful words Psalms offers.

Friends, God’s Word is alive and active!!! Every bit of the Bible is useful, and it’s up to each one of us to dig in and fill up. So without further ado, it’s time to dig into Psalms: Chapters 131-140!

Awe-Inspiring Scripture Found In Psalms: Chapters 131-140

(1) Psalms 131:1

Inspirational wisdom from David! God’s got everything under control, friends. All we need to do is be content and put our trust in Him. It’s all about perspective! So, let go of pride and just be humble.

“Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don’t concern myself with matters too great or too awesome for me to grasp.”

(2) Psalms 132:17

David’s mighty descendant this verse is talking about is JESUS. (Matthew 1:1-17) And, He’s the LIGHT OF THE WORLD, friends!!

“Here I will increase the power of David; My anointed One will be a light for My people.”

(3) Psalms 133:3

I love this verse!!! The words flow so beautifully. The words found in this verse sets my heart at peace.

“Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced His blessing, even life everlasting.”

(4) Psalms 134:1-3

There’s just something special about praising and worshiping the Lord, friends!! He is worthy! (Ephesians 1:1-8)

“Oh, praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, you who serve at night in the house of the Lord. Lift your hands toward the sanctuary, and praise the Lord. May the Lord, who made Heaven and Earth, bless you from Jerusalem.”

(5) Psalms 135:3

This wonderful news – the Lord is good – is intertwined throughout the entire book of Psalms! What a wonderful reason to praise His holy name!

“Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; celebrate His lovely name with music.”

(6) Psalms 136:1

Give thanks in everything – a beautiful, inspiring theme found throughout this entire Psalm. A repetition that’s not only inspiring, but super impactful and filled with purpose!!

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever.”

(7) Psalms 137:1-2

This Psalm is a great prayer reminder for us! When sorrow, grief, and tragedy strike it can be hard to look past the pain, but there is always hope because a joyful tune will begin again. When need to take our cares to the Lord, and pour our hearts out at His feet, remembering this too shall pass. There is joy with Jesus, friends!!!

“Beside the rivers of Babylon, we sat and wept as we thought of Jerusalem. We put away our harps, hanging them on the branches of poplar trees.”

(8) Psalms 138:3

Just a verse to back up what we just found in Psalm 137!!! Prayer is the answer, friends!!!

“As soon as I pray, You answer me; You encourage me by giving me strength.”

(9) Psalms 139:5, 17-18

Oh, if we could all just read these verses over and over again for the first time each and every day! What power these verses hold!!

“(5)You go before me and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head. (17)How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! (18)I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, You are still with me!”

(10) Psalms 140:7

This speaks of God’s amazing, powerful nature!! What a beautiful picture it paints for us. Because God is sovereign He is supreme over all!!! His strength and power stretch beyond anything we can even comprehend. He is Lord of lords, King of kings, Almighty God!!!!

“O Sovereign Lord, the strong One who rescued me, You protected me on the day of battle.”

Friends, I pray these verses will encourage, strengthen, and uplift you today!! I pray you allow the Holy Spirit to intervene in your life and show you just how amazing you are in His eyes. I pray you got filled, excited, and are able to keep the worship going strong all week long!
