Renewing Scripture: Isaiah - Part 3 @aheartfilled.com

Fall is a great time to focus on renewing our hearts and minds and the Major Prophets are a great place to find some renewing scripture!

The first of five books that make up the Major Prophets is Isaiah. So that’s where I started my fall reading this year!

I thought I’d share some of the renewing scripture the Holy Spirit has been stirring my heart with as I read through this super deep, intense, amazing book in hopes you too will find some renewing strength as you continue to be faithful and put your hope in the ONE TRUE GOD.

Renewing Scripture: Isaiah – Part 3

Time to fill up! Below you’ll find 10 scripture passages found in chapters 50-66 of Isaiah.

Take your time reading through each one. Fill your heart with God’s renewing words! Enjoy the journey – write them out, journal them, memorize them, dig in deeper if you want! Open your heart to receive God’s renewing strength, repent the sins that weigh heavy on your heart, and return to the One who loves you beyond measure.

It’s all about A HEART FILLED, friends!

Side Note – I’ve referenced all the verses using the NLT version, but I love exploring different translations so I encourage you to find your favorite translation for each. Delight in your search!

(1) Isaiah 50:4

  • Morning by morning!! Renewal every single day so we can, in turn, pour out on others.

“The Sovereign Lord has given me His words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning He wakens me and opens my understanding to His will.”

Isaiah 50:4 (NLT)

(2) Isaiah 50:10-11

  • God is the only light we need!

“Who among you fears the Lord and obeys His servant? If you are walking in darkness, without a ray of light, trust in the Lord and rely on your God. But watch out, you who live in your own light and warm yourselves by your own fires. This is the reward you will receive from me: You will soon fall down in great torment”

Isaiah 50:10-11 (NLT)

(3) Isaiah 55:3

  • Be still and listen! God’s unfailing love abounds.

“Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.”

Isaiah 55:3 (NLT)

(4) Isaiah 55:11

  • Renewal takes place when we fill our heart and mind with God’s Word.

“It is the same with my Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”

Isaiah 55:11 (NLT)

(5) Isaiah 57:15

  • We must repent and humble ourselves before the Lord.

“The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: ‘I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.'”

Isaiah 57:15 (NLT)

(6) Isaiah 58:11

  • The Lord is our Living-Water!

“The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.”

Isaiah 58:11 (NLT)

(7) Isaiah 59:21

  • A renewing promise of HOPE! The Holy Spirit indwells with us and Gods’ Word was, is, and always will be!

“‘And this is my covenant with them,’ says the Lord. ‘My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children’s children forever. I, the Lord, have spoken!'”

Isaiah 59:21 (NLT)

(8) Isaiah 62:6b-7a

  • Pray! Pray! Pray! Never stop praying!

“Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord. Give the Lord no rest until He completes His work.”

Isaiah 62:6b-7a (NLT)

(9) Isaiah 64:8

  • This is how we are renewed!

“And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.”

Isaiah 64:8 (NLT)

(10) Isaiah 66:2

  • Another reminder about being humble, repenting, and obeying God – the fear of the Lord!

“My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! ‘I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my Word.'”

Isaiah 66:2 (NLT)

Reading through Isaiah has given me comfort, made my heart leap with joy, and renewed my mind and heart beyond measure, and I’m praying you too will find the peace and joy you long for as you explore all Isaiah has to offer.

The book of Isaiah is filled with SO MUCH renewing scripture. I only scratched the surface with this list. If you haven’t read through the entire book, make sure to take time for that soon and check out my other posts in my Renewing Scripture series – more will be coming soon!
