Welcome to your next Bible Reading Plan, friends!
The Rest in Hope Winter Bible Reading Plan is a 7-week study that pairs the book of Hebrews with passages taken from the book of John, and the last week the books of Matthew and Acts make a special appearance to help wrap the study up.

A Restful Season
If you pay close attention to the start of winter you’ll notice that rest is on the horizon. After fall gently breezes through, nature takes a break. It’s during this time of year that we’ll find animals all around showing us just how this winter “rest” goes down. So, think about this…
What if these clues are God’s subtle way of telling us we too can embrace this restful season?
There is purpose in every season God blesses us with, friends! Winter’s purpose is all about showing us it’s ok to slow down a bit. It’s even ok to wrap up all that busyness, tie it down with a big fat bow, and embrace the slower days that lie ahead.
Throughout the season, God blesses my little neck of the woods with fresh blankets of snow, and often you’ll catch me peering out my window, as I watch it fall softly to the ground, just praying that all those out in it make it home safely. It’s during these cold winter days I enjoy a soft, cozy blanket all the more, I tend to sip my hot mug of bliss a little slower, and I stand in awe of a new season’s wonders.

Snow is an amazing wonder sent down from God to us during the coldest of seasons. It’s glistening silence draws me in. And…you know what?!? It’s this glistening silence that He knows my soul – OUR SOULS – long to cling to. It’s in this silence that God offers us rest.
Rest IS a Blessing
Rest is a beautiful blessing sent from above. It’s a kind of blessing, if used properly, that helps to rekindle a heart’s flame for a relationship that only gets better with time!

The Rest in Hope Winter Bible Reading Plan offers us…

- An opportunity to fill up on Scripture that proclaims who Jesus is, what He’s already done for us all, and what He continually offers to those that call upon His name!

Rest in Hope is a Bible reading journey on a mission to get us to sit in the glistening silence with our Lord and Savior. It will require…

What a wonderful way to keep our hearts cozy all winter long!
Each and every verse in this Bible reading plan points straight to JESUS! As we make our way through the Scripture we will be able to rest in the hope that only Jesus offers!!
HOPE
To quote the beloved poet, Emily Dickinson, “Hope is the thing with feathers, that perches in the soul, and sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all.” Did you know that this kind of hope, that perches in the soul and never stops at all, can only be found in Jesus?!
AND…you know what?!?
Jesus offers this lasting hope to us freely!

Hope is rooted in a relationship with Jesus, friends!
When our hearts are filled – no, better yet, gushing out all over the place – with the hope that only Jesus bestows we find the connection that leads to a deeper love for our Savior! And, with a deeper love comes a rekindled heart-a-blazing for the King of the world – JESUS!
Friends, when we give ourselves the opportunity to rest – in God’s presence – it makes a difference!! This kind of rest is exactly where we will find the hope that warms our hearts! It’s a hope built on a sure and lasting relationship with our Heavenly Father that gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by. A hope that gives us the assurance of what our future holds.
Hope is built on faith, friends!

Hope is built on faith!
A faith found in knowing the Savior!
And to really KNOW HIM we must open our Bibles and fill our hearts!
So, this is my prayer for all those that embark upon this winter Bible reading journey with me:

As we open our Bibles may we be able to…
- REST IN THE HOPE found only in Jesus!
- BE STILL & MEDITATE on His wonderful words!
- FILL OUR HEARTS with His priceless treasures!
- LIVE BY HIS TRUTH ALONE!
FAITH
As I prepared to write out this plan I ran across a Bible note I had to share! It’s about faith!
“The beginning point of faith is believing in God’s character: He is who He says. The end point is believing in God’s promises: He will do what He says. When we believe that God will fulfill His promises even though we don’t see those promises materializing yet, we demonstrate true faith.”

Faith is where it starts, friends!
With faith we can and will be able to hold fast to the hope we find when we take the time to really get to know Jesus, our Savior!

As we make our way through the book of Hebrews we’ll learn that those who came before us demonstrated this kind of true faith!! And, because they made it into the “Hall of Faith” lineup we can be assured their testimonies are solid examples we can glean from!
Jesus, the awaited Messiah we read about all throughout the Old Testament, came to Earth for us all!!
JESUS IS…
- God in flesh
- a babe born in a manger
- a sacrifice for our sins
- the King of kings

On Earth He roamed,
an example for us all,
then died to set us free!
Now in Heaven He reigns,
and one day soon
He will come again to take us home!
Hallelujah!! JESUS SAVES!!
An eternal life with our Savior and Lord is what we get to look forward to when we put our faith in Him! As we fill our hearts I pray we are all able to claim that…
JESUS is where our hope can be found – the hope that gives us rest!
To Rest in Hope
Are you ready to rekindle your heart’s flame for Jesus?? The King of kings, Redeemer of the world, our Savior and Lord? Cuz, it’s time to hunker down with God’s Word and fill your heart with the hope freely given to you this season as you rest in His presence.
As I mentioned above, the Rest in Hope Winter Bible Reading Plan is a 7-week study that pairs the book of Hebrews with passages taken from the book of John, and the last week the books of Matthew and Acts make a special appearance to help wrap the study up.
After reading each chapter in Hebrews I recommend reading through the Scripture references, from the book of John, I have paired with each. So, for example – after you read through Hebrews chapter 1 you’ll then want to head over to John and read chapter 1:1-14 before reading chapter 2 in Hebrews.
The verses found in the book of John are a wonderful addition to each of the chapters found in Hebrews. I’m also excited to include a little bit from Matthew and Acts at the end of the reading plan, because it’s filled with the kind of encouragement we need to hear as we take this Good News out into the world warming hearts wherever we go!

When I put this reading plan together my hopes were readers would fill up on the content found in Hebrews and then be even more inspired when they read the words spoken from Jesus and His disciples found in the other New Testament books. It’s a rest in hope experience that’s not only destined to fill your heart but also set it ablaze!!
A Heart Filled Rest in Hope Winter Bible Reading Plan
I’ve broken down the reading plan into weeks versus days so readers can choose how they want to read the content each week. However, studies show if you spend at least 4 days in God’s Word each week you’ll notice a difference, so I definitely suggest stretching out the reading plan into at least 4 days per week!
