Shine Bright For Jesus Devotion Series Intro

“Shine bright for Jesus!”

This is my all time favorite mom quote! I find myself including this in almost every conversation I have with my kids. I love shining bright for Jesus, and love reminding my kids to shine bright for Him as well. At times it can be a challenge. And, God understands this! That’s why He’s available 24/7. He wants us to know this with all our heart and live it out daily. It sure does take a conscience effort, though, to keep God at the center of our everything. Are you all about that sparkle?! I am and I’m here to encourage you to be as well. Shining bright for Him can make all the difference inward and outward.

I love how every time I open my Bible a new verse speaks to me and has me pondering how I can be more like Him as the days wear on. And, the Bible is filled with so many great verses reminding us how to shine bright for Jesus. I’m on a mission not only to fill my Bible journal with them all but to spread them around like little rays of sunshine, so this is a devotion series that will be continually growing, and there’s no set order for reading them in. Make sure to check back often and join me as I seek out all the little bursts of sunshine the Bible is flooded with to help us all keep shining as we go.

Shine Bright Devotion 2

John 1:1-4

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought LIGHT to everyone. THE LIGHT SHINES IN THE DARKNESS, AND THE DARKNESS CAN NEVER EXTINGUISH IT.” John 1:1-4 (NLT)

“But SEEK FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33

The Word is our source of life and light! Spending time with God keeps us energized and ready to shine bright for Him. We cannot have God shine through us if we don’t first seek out His flawless words found in the Bible. When we open the Bible and allow God to surge through us we receive the power needed to SHINE BRIGHT!

“And the words of the Lord are FLAWLESS,
like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.”

Psalm 12:6 NIV

His Word is sweet, pure, everlasting, and the nourishment our soul desires. Reading John 1:1-4 really warms my soul! While we live in a fallen world that is overcome by sin, and darkness seems to be lurking around every corner, we can take heart knowing that the darkness in the world cannot extinguish His light. We can also stand firm in the fact that God was, is, and always will be. This my friends is a promise straight from our Heavenly Father! Stand in awe!

It’s exhilarating to know God is victorious and His plans far exceed any of my wildest dreams. This is the hope that keeps me eager to continually walk with Him. We all face trials, heartache, and pain along life’s journey, but to know without a doubt that God wins in the end is all the reassurance I need to keeping shining for Him. Find comfort knowing His light will overcome ALL the darkness and let your joy burst out with shining rays of hope.
