The Greatest Search
I enjoy reading through the book of Deuteronomy! It’s filled with treasured reminders that help me stay on track, and Deuteronomy 4:29 is one of them.
In chapter 4 of Deuteronomy we find Moses having a chat with the Israelites about obeying God. When we get to verse 29 he’s in the middle of warning the Israelites to be careful of idolatry and not to break their covenant with the Lord. Wandering is what the Israelites seemed to do best, and Moses wraps up this chat reminding them that they need to seek the Lord with ALL their heart and ALL their soul. This is a reminder we all need. A treasured reminder, actually!
WE NEED TO CHASE AFTER GOD!
God wants us to know Him, and He’s easy to get know! All we have to do is open our hearts and fill ’em up with His Word. When we genuinely and sincerely seek after Him we will find Him. As we keep the search going we will KNOW Him. This is by far the greatest search a person could ever get themselves wrapped up in, because it leads down a road of priceless truth, love, mercy, peace, friendship, comfort, joy… and, the list just goes on and on!
PURSUE HIM WITH ALL YOUR HEART!
The Lord our God is the same God then as He is now! Moses spoke these words to the Israelites back in 1400s B.C. and the words were just as important then as they are now. When you read through the book of Deuteronomy allow the Holy Spirit to stir your heart with these treasured reminders and keep the great search up!
