Proverbs 16:20

“Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.” Proverbs 16:20 (NIV)

Trust In The Lord

As I was studying this Bible verse I noticed each translation gives a little more insight. Check this out!

“Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful.” Proverbs 16:20 (NLT)
“Whoever gives thought to the Word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.” Proverbs 16:20 (ESV)
“The one who understands a matter finds success, and the one who trusts in the Lord will be happy.” Proverbs 16:20 (HCSB)
“He who heeds the Word wisely will find good, and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.” Proverbs 16:20 (NKJV)
“He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.” Proverbs 16:20 (KJV)

HOW AWESOME IS THE BIBLE!?!

So after checking out the different translations I came to this conclusion:

I need to make sure I’m LISTENING, UNDERSTANDING, and THINKING about God’s Word often! Daily! ALL the time! And when I make this conscience effort and allow the Lord to guide and direct me I’m able to GROW, THRIVE, and FLOURISH. But, all of this relies on me TRUSTING IN THE LORD, and when I do it’s where I’ll find His joy, His blessings, and His goodness. So I will open my Bible, allow God to fill my heart, and walk by faith!

Friends, let’s allow Proverbs 16:20 to penetrate deep into our hearts! Let’s remember to put our trust in the Lord each day. Let’s strive to find time daily to open up our Bibles and fill our hearts!
